The Fiestas Patrias is a yearly event that celebrates the independence of Mexico and Latin American countries with a parade, music, health fair, art and much more. The festival has a loyal fan base – over 75% of attendees in any one year are repeat visitors. Fiestas Patrias fans span the range of ages, and is particularly popular with families.
Create a new responsive website engaging with the festival’s customers and ensuring information and schedule can easily found by users.
After speaking with stakeholders and reviewing the previous website, I took the painpoints and decided to create a new landing page design informing and showing what is the festival about and an easy way for vendors to find information.
My end goal was to provide users with high-level understanding of the parade. In order to do it I designed the page with a hero video background,
used modular design breaking out information with a clean and simple modular design and provide more space for content to breathe.
I alternated visuals, CTA's and text yo keep user engaged and a section for people can donate and support the festival.
This are some of the sketches I created for mobile and desktop.
The new website was well received by stakeholders and users. The hero video showing the parade as a background attract attention to users and more visits to the website has being seen through analytics. CTA's, information and images directs the eyes towards are of interesent of the user.
